Island Series

On a day trip from our land in Maine we went to Deer Isle. Hiking out to the Barred Island Preserve looking out over goose Cove there is a view of several small islands in Penobscot Bay with the light and atmosphere at that moment obscuring the exact details that makes an island an island. Abstract lines on the horizon.

Harvesting clay and sediment from our property in Maine, I made the motions that I used as paint in the series. Along with Prussian blue to try to capture the color an elemental connection to the geography.
